Residents of the UK with Journeys commencing in and returning to the UK.

Most pre-existing medical conditions are not covered. Those that are covered, as long as you only have one of these conditions and no other conditions, are :

Asthma

Provided that:

  • There has been no hospital admission within the last 12 months.

  • It is controlled by no more than 2 medications (no nebulisers and no home oxygen).

  • You have been a non-smoker for at 18 months.

  • You are able to walk at least 200 yards on the flat without becoming short of breath.

Diabetes Mellitus (Type 2, non insulin dependent)

Provided that:

  • It is controlled by diet alone or by no more than 1 medication (no insulin).

  • There has never been any hospital admission or diabetic complication.

  • You have been a non smoker for at least 18 months.

High Blood Pressure (Hypertension)

Provided that:

  • There has been no change in medication or dosage in the last 3 months.

  • You have been a non smoker for at least 18 months.

  • Your blood pressure reading on the last two occasions was within normal limits.

  • There are no more than 2 medications being taken.

Hypercholesterolemia (High/Raised cholesterol)

Provided that:

  • It is not the inherited form (Familial Hypercholesterolemia).

  • The plasma cholesterol level is below 6.

Failure to declare a medical condition will result in non payment of a claim.

No. You will need to provide medical conditions relating to all the following persons if this is likely to influence the extent of cover that we are willing to provide. This is a material fact:

  • The Insured Person(s) i.e. all named persons on the policy.

  • Any travelling companion, relative or close business colleague or other person on whose state of health a decision by you to cancel or curtail your trip will depend.

If after buying the policy or booking a trip a material fact becomes known to you, you must tell us immediately.

No. The position must be considered at each renewal of the policy and a new medical declaration must be made prior to each annual renewal date.

Some authorities may ask to see your insurance policy, so you should at least carry a copy, however to take advantage of our 24-hour emergency assistance, all you will need is your policy number and the 24-hour medical emergency telephone number.
