I started my career at Lark in 1984, straight out of college. I spent time in a variety of roles within the Commercial Clients division until 2002 when I became a Branch Director, responsible for the development and management of our Maidstone office.
In 2004, I became Managing Director of the Commercial Clients division and am now responsible for all of Lark's commercial insurance business. This includes everything that would affect our clients, prospects or our own people. Specifically, I am involved in new business development, ensuring we have satisfied customers, risk management, insurer relationships and strategy, compliance and many other management tasks associated with running a professional team of individuals within a top 40 UK broker.
With one day rarely the same as the next, it’s difficult to pick what I enjoy most about my role. I particularly like to see our people develop and grow within the business. Providing solutions tailored for clients and prospects is of particular interest and it’s great when it leads to happy clients, as well as new ones! I love the challenge of actually broking business to an experienced underwriter, albeit that the management aspect of the job means I’m not able to do that very often.
