CII New Generation Programme

Chartered Insurance Institute announces the launch of New Generation Group of 2018 and Lark are delighted that Grace Stratford has been selected as one of those rising stars.

Ten rising stars from each area in claims, London market, underwriting and broking were selected to benefit from increased exposure to market issues and the opportunity to make their mark in their chosen profession. Participants must at least hold a Dip CII and have over five years experience and no more than ten. We are delighted that Grace has been accepted onto the Programme. Grace joined Lark in May 2017 as an Account Handler in the Colchester Private Client team. She previously worked at Hiscox for nearly 5 years as an Art and Private Client Underwriter. She is passionate about getting to know people, networking and providing a high level of insurance knowledge.

CII New Generation Programme

The annual talent programme which launched in 2011/12 includes workshops on strategic thinking, interactive sessions on regulation hosted by the Financial Conduct Authority; a day on influencing government held at Parliament hosted by Craig Tracey MP, Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Insurance & Financial Services; and a full day of intensive media training.

The workshops are all related to driving change. However, the second part of the programme is the opportunity for the members to split into their business area and to make a difference in the insurance profession and customer outcomes by identifying and delivering a project of their own choosing. This process allows them to gain a number of key management and leadership skills - in a safe environment - that should stay with them for life.

Grace is extremely excited to get started – “This is an opportunity for professionals to test leadership skills, share knowledge and experiences with a group of like-minded people at a similar career stage. As an outcome, I’d like to bring some new ideas and skills back to Lark, make some life-long industry contacts (even if they are in direct competition!) and create a project that drives a positive result within the industry. I’m incredibly grateful to have joined an employer who has supported and encouraged me in advancing my career by allowing me to represent them at networking events, spend time with different departments learning their lines of business and to join the New Generation Programme.  Within only a few months of joining, Lark has given me many opportunities to further my career.”

“It is no surprise that Grace was accepted onto the programme, in her short time here at Lark she has already made a lasting impression. She is hardworking, talented and ambitious. We wish her well on the programme and are looking forward to the results she can share with the business.”  Sally Buckle, Head of Learning and Development.

Congratulations, Grace, we hope you enjoy the programme!
